do shrimp make a web like structure?

I noticed after i fed my shrimp, awhile after, there was what looked like a web from the LR and flowing around with the current, some zooplankton was stuck on it and he was picking them off and eating them.

Shrimps will take advantage of other animals' feeding methods. Sounds like your guy is stealing food from a vermetid feeding net.

Try blasting the LR a bit with something like a turkey baster or a powerhead, you'll be amazed at just how many webs there are.
