Brian-- If you think Roy was good handling the puck then you've got to think Theodore is a dream.

Every time Roy skated out of the goal crease made me cringe. Theodore seems to give up a lot of rebounds. Not nearly as many as Budaj, though, and he seems to me to be hanging on to a few more of them lately. I sure would love to be a goalie playing in front of this year's Avs, though. Man, do they block a lot of shots.
Todd-- I don't mind the rules changes. I actually never thought they needed much in the way of changing the rules. They have never enforced the rules they had well. I always thought that if they just called everything there'd be a big parade to the box for a couple of weeks and then the players would get used to the rules and move on. It seems to be taking the players longer to adjust than I expected, though.
Letting the defensemen maul guys on the offense for free isn't good hockey to me. These new rules are really bringing the defensemen who have amazing skills to the fore. Skrastins is driving people crazy because even with the new rules he's getting the job done. He blocks tons of shots and manages to strip people of the puck without taking the easy way out. You should have seen the move he made on a breakaway in the third period last night (from a step behind the guy) to possibly save the day for the Avs and give them a chance to get back into the game.
I'm a fan of the rules, for the most part.
What I'm seeing now that's ****ing me off is offensive players putting defensemens' sticks under their arms and turning around really quickly in order to draw a hooking call. That's pretty lame.
Scoring a lot doesn't seem to hurt lacrosse any. It's pretty exciting to watch. I love watching soccer, but it would sure get a lot more audience if they scored more.
Anyway, I hope the playoffs stay exciting for you.
