It can but needs to be no less than 15 minute on off intervals, they are not ment to be used on a rapid on off cycle. The longer the better for less wear and tear on the pump. Keep in mind the pumps will likely chatter at start up

Do the 6055's with the controller chatter?

No, the chatter on the 6055s have been resolved with a new drive unit. But you would want to use a controller not your RK2 on it incase you did not know

kc350twin - I see you are a Vdub tech.... any tips on how to get the local dealerships to fix a misaligned(off center) steering wheel?

It needs to be re-aligned to be truly correct. There are short cut ways to center it but none of which are on the up and up. A lot of the new cars need an alignment right off the lot. The springs settle after it's built.
Is the car new? if so how many miles? On a VW it has to be under 1k and needs Rep's approval. This is simply not covered under warranty.
