bought these bad boys last week when i was out and about in the city last week...cost my 9 dollars...it is only three heads but they are beautiful...green frills, looks like pink faux frills, with a super deep purple/black centre, green mouth, with green lines radiating out from the mouth...not sure exactly what they are though...as you can see the under side has bright green spots...first thought was a paly, but the green spots i have never seen before and they dont really look like sand deposits..they are way too big to be zoas (almost the size of a quarter)...possibly grandis, but not sure...love them anyway...i am feeding them like crazy, and they have a snap reaction to food, closing almost instantly upon food contact...possibly some sort of anemone...

Alas..my new beauties:

people on nanoreef seem to think they are rock/flower anemones...what are their survival chances in a reef tank...how fast do they become pest like?

It is a different species than your standard Epicystis Crucifer, but that's about all I know. They reproduce asexually, which typical rock/flower nems do not.

i got them from a shop in Toronto, they had them in a frag rack with a bunch of drab looking palys and zoas...at first i assumed they were just the cherry in the lot of palys...wow was i mistaken...i love them...but worry for their longevity in a reef, as i have heard they are more of a temperate species...at any rate i was spot feeding them H2o reef nutrition, and one of them has already split...they are about the size of quarter when not tearing themselves in half..
