Do you have a saw for cutting tile?

Hi all, looking for somebody that has a wet saw for cutting travertine tile. I've got about 7 tiles that I need to cut - they're going to be the base for inside my tank instead of starboard. Anyways, I don't have the means to cut these other then to suffer through doing it with a Dremel or a hacksaw.

Anyways, if somebody could save me the time and hassle of renting a saw and probably sawing my arm off I'd appreciate it and throw 20 bucks your way (don't have any frags to offer). Hoping to swing by somebodies place on Sunday if possible. I'm in LA (downtown) so would love to find somebody out by way of Glendale, Alhambra, etc.

If you've got an angle grinder, you can just buy a diamond blade from homedepot cheap, if not the home depot/lowes here will cut them for free as long as they're straight cuts.

I don't have much in the way of tools as I'm living in a condo. I have a balcony so small projects, like what I can do with my Dremel can be accomplished, but that's about it.

If there's a Home Depot or Lowe's that you know of that cuts tile, I'd love to know where it is. I haven't had any luck finding one yet (although they're more then happy to tell you where to go to rent tools).

I'm from St. Louis, and all the home depot, and lowes cut tile. Guess thing are different in Cali :( Talk to a few friends see if they have an angle grinder, they are a fairly common tool to have. A cheap diamond blade will run around 12 bucks here, and you can make all the cuts you want.

Yeah, So Cal is pretty typical for stores not doing crap for you around here. I read online that Home Depot will do it at some stores, but I wasn't the least bit surprised to find out they don't do it here.

I'll look into the angle grinder. My brother has a decent spread of tools, so hopefully I can use his and just pick up the blade. Thanks for the suggestions.

I had the hardest time with home depot yesterday. Apparently they all carry different sized lumber. I was in one then Called 4 locations looking for a 4x10" x12'. No one. Then I called one place looking for a 4x8x12. They didn't have it. But the next location did. Then the guy told me to go to a super home depot. Didn't know they existed. But apparently Anaheim hills location is a super home depot. Ended up finding one but all 10 in stock were warped or cracked.

Good luck finding someone to cut it for you. I'd like to see how it ends up looking too.

They've got plenty of light bulbs, though don't they! My own totally unscientific speculation is that the Home Depot's out here are now way more focused on the needs of the contractors. The DIY crowd doesn't get much support. I figure when you're paying like $750k for a house these days, you're essentially among the wealthy and just pay somebody to come do the work for you.

Here's a link to where I got the idea from. Hopefully it'll turn out looking something like this.
