Do you have blue damsel to give away?

If you have unwanted blue damsel to give away, I will take them. I am setting up another tank and could use them to cycle the tank before adding expensive fish.

Sure. Any salt water hardy fish would do. I work in Naperville (corner of Warrenville and Naper Blvd). probably not too far from your place. Just let me know when would be a convenient time to pick them up. Many thanks.

you can have mine if you can get them out of my tank.I've been trying for a while now but they just too dmn fast.

Hehehe... I know what you mean. I used to have a few and couldn't catch them neither. Only after I upgraded the tank to a bigger one, removed all LRs, only then I can net them out.

instead of worring about getting them out later, why not use something else to cycle the tank.. Something that wont have to suffer through a nitrogen cycle and something that is easy to remove. Like a peice of uncooked shrimp from the freezer. Put it into a filter bag or a nylon sock. It will decay and start the ammonia spike/cycle. Once the cycle has started (or when the shrimp starts to decay (and stink)) remove the shrimp and wait for the nitrates :)

Oh my goodness. If raw frozen shrimp is all it takes to start the tank cycle, I will definitely use this method. since I am planning to put in lots of fish in this new 150g tank, I will put a whole pound of raw shrimp in the sump to set up a heavy bioload. Thanks Rod.

Rod - Since shrimp is kinda expensive, can I use raw frozen fish instead. My local market has raw dead fish for only $1/lb ( a whole fish with head and tail). I was thinking of putting 1 large dead fish in the sump instead of shrimp.

Sure, anyting to get some ammonia going and anything that will decay... I just let the the die off on new live rock start the cycle for me.

Well, if your interested I have a blue damsel and I'd be happy to tear the tank apart to get him out for you.
