Do you name your fish????

You know desdeej, it probably is silly to name our fish, but it doesn't stop me from doing it. Sometimes this hobby is enough to make us pull out our hair when things are going wrong (which seems too often). Or when things are going great (not often enough) we forget to enjoy it. Life is too short and if you don't feed your inner child you're going to end up with a grouchy F*#T on the outside and we've all seen enough of them to know what I'm talking about.
I have to laugh out loud at some of the names: Naked clowns-Nit and Wit and a coral beauty named Skittles and I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read about Toro or I would have had soda shooting out my nose..heck, even without pictures I can almost see them...and if a smile can lengthen your life by even one hour, the smiles I've had from reading this has added at least two weeks to my life. So thanks for sharing and I hope I hear more....
and if you don't like it, I'll just sic King Farouk (very large peacock mantis shrimp) on ya...
Couldn't agree more. It's the little things that make the big things seem little and occasionally put a smile on our face. :)

People name cats, they don't usually respond either.

Are you kidding? Do you even own cats? A cat will respond to his name pretty much every single time.

I'm sorry that was a little harsh, but you just used a bad example.

Pajama Cardinals -- Picasso & Mistress
Yellow Clown Goby -- Sid
Starry Blenny -- Aloysius
6-Line Wrasse -- Senior Rita

We also named our conchs Emily & Rocco.

We still need to name our onyx clowns... those have been the toughest!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing myself... my cat used to come running when you'd call his name. My wife and I even taught him how to play fetch with some of his cat toys.

God bless that cat... we had to put him to sleep on Monday night... he was old, and very sick. :(

Sorry about your kitty...I remember going to feed my 22 year old long haired siamese and finding him curled up in his bed...already gone...I loved that cat...his name was Piewacket after the cat in the old Jimmy Stewart/Kim Novak movie, Bell, Book and Candle.

ok ... I dont really name my fish, but I do refer to them as my kids. I always tell friends that I have to go home because I have 42 mouths to feed. And as I walk in the room they come flying to that corner of the tank and follow me because they know that Daddy is home. Sheesh, I cant believe I just shared that.

NO, I do not have a cat. I am alergic to them. I have nothing against them. I have known many through family and friends and most I have experienced were solitary loners with bad atitudes. Nothing against your felines. I am just not a cat person.

The only cat I really ever liked was a former stray named P.J. He was a live in former stray at an animal clinic I used to work for. He was the resident blood donor. He would get on his back paws and box with me for 10 minutes or so before he would get bored and wander away. He and I had some good times.
