Do you need 2 quarantine tanks?

Do you need 2 quarantine tanks? Since fish you will treat with copper and invertebrates and coral separate so that if theres ich it will die in 28 days ?

inverts don't get ich. but if you have a large enough system some recommend a fish QT and a coral QT incase you get red bugs or flat worms on the coral. Could take out your whole tank.

There is a treatment for Ich being researched involving moving fish between two QT tanks, sterilizing each tank between moves. There's a sound theory behind it, but no hard data yet. I don't really see it as being any easier on the fish than hypo or copper.

Otherwise, you only need enough QT to house all the fish. Leave the inverts in your display without any fish at all in it... they don't carry Ich, but your tank needs fallow time for the ich to be removed from it. Treat your fish with copper or hypo.

I would just not use copper in one tank. Hyposalinity seems to be the way to go. Have you checked down in the disease forum for detailed instructions?
