do you need to keep kids out of cabinet?

i am setting up my tank and that is one of the things i needed to figure out. i have a 3 year old so the old kid of kid locks wouldn't work, he could get in them. i just bought a new kid of child proof lock from Lows. it uses a magnetic key! you have to drill almost through the cabinet from the back but you don't see anything from the front when it's closed. then when you want to open the door just place a magnet on the face of the door and it unlocks! i thought i was going to have to put some ugly keyed lock in my cabinet doors, but these work great! just thought i'd let everyone know about it!

I would think so. I've heard horror stories of kids trying to give the fish a bubble bath.

my 3 year old has went fishing with his bath toys in my 16 gal fresh water tank twice. luckily all it did was ruin the light!

Lets just say I don't even trust my girlfriend to touch the tank.....I don't take many vacations!!!! If I did, I could leave her to take care of it. hehehehe

Fishtanks are mini cesspools, and should be treated in the same regard as toliet water in the toliet.

seriously people, i finished putting these locks on today and i absolutely love them!! they are awesome!! you need to understand that i was about to purchase keyed locks then i would have had a big ugly lock on the front of my cabinet. i had the keyed locks in my hand and then decided to ask someone and he showed me these magnetic one's. i am very happy with them!

Actually the water in your toilet is much cleaner it gets flushed more often toliet water is even cleaner then most peoples kithchen sinks!

BTW, I used those locks on my old tank and loved them as well!
