Do you QT an anemone?

I have never put an anemone in a QT. Your QT would have to be established to meet the needs of the anemone for a 72 day period. Acclimation would be more important to me.

Well, it may depend on the anemone and where it came from, and what you have already, but many of us nem keepers do QT new nems just to observe, some species are known to travel w/ bacterial infections and can pass that to other nems, so especially for a magnifica, gig, others prone to bacterial infections yes we would qt, and if needed treat w/ cipro.
There is a cipro and qt sticky above in nem forum that explains in more detail.

^^^^What he said, it all depends on the type of nem you are planning to get. If bubble tip I think most tend to just put them right in DT. I'm sure there are a few that monitor but if you plan on getting any of the above mentioned treating with Cipro upon arrival is highly recommended unless you know who had it and was healthy in a well established system.

Since a BTA is often a clone from anothers tank people do often skip a QT, that's to your discretion, but agree, a QT is usually best.

I recently picked up a magnifica from a fellow member here I trust and he did QT and cipro treat, in fact on a magnifica this actually made it worth more knowing it was already treated properly and survived that procedure, but this is the type of example where it may be ok to pass.

the anemone i want to research while I am going follow or is it fallow? is a rainbow colored BTA. I guess I should take this time to go look up the scientific name and research the crap out of it while I have the time. Thank you all for the input!
