Do you run Ho T5 in a tank with a lot of micro bubbles

I don't know if I should hook up my tek light just yet because of all the bubbles in my tank? Do you know what range of lux a metal halide gives off compared to a full 8 bulb tek light fixture?
I might be better off with the t5 but I don't know.

What does lighting have to do with bubbles?

I have the 8 bulb fixture but it stays 3-4 inches from the bubbles at all times or else!
