do you think this could work?

Despite having my own RO/DI unit, I m still reading trace amounts of phosphates in the water.

Do you think it could work to make a mini gfo filter by plumbing a small peice of 1" pvc in my ATO line?

Heres how I picture it. Take a 5" piece of 1" or 3/4" pvc. Cap it on each end with end caps. Drill 1/4" holes in end caps and glue a flex tube nipple into the hole on each end. now I have this thing in line on my ato. I remove one of the end caps and fill it with GFO. So the fresh water that refills my evaporation from my ATO unit passes through this gfo filled chamber.

Does this sound like a possible solution to eliminating PO4 from top off water?

I'd check with the guys at Bulk Reef Supply because they sell both GFO and DI. They probably have a better understanding of what will work best for your situation. I'm not sure if the GFO must tumble in contact with DI. Probably not but BRS would know.

You've been answered, Maybe you should go in depth as to what kind of filtration your running ie. how many and what kind of stages if you want another answere.

GFO has to tumble so it doesn't harden together. You can add some carbon like I do to prevent that. Another di stage would probably do the same thing for cheaper. It's hard to say with your vague description of "RODI".

Whats your tds in and out of you rodi?
