Do you think this guy will survive?

I have target fed them a few times over the years but they seem to thrive on just light.

A series of shots of acclimation :

They really pop under actinic. They look like they glow in the dark. They appear to be different colors but they just look different under
different light.

Oh and I agree with kingfisher, I target fed mine at first, but then got lazy and don't do it so often now. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Id feed the one you have at least now while its recovering though rush.

Awesome pics! And thanks for the feedback guys.

I'll keep you updated on its progress. Hopefully they turn out like some of the pics here! :D

Thanks man. So what do you think about the drastic color difference in the two sets of heads? I though that maybe the smaller heads would just eventually color up a bit more, but they almost look like a completely different kind of coral?

If the smaller heads survive they will eventually color up for you. Obviously they took more abuse then the others. Looks like the bigger polyp is close to start splitting. Are there two mouths in it ?

I was looking at my tanks yesterday and realized I have five colonies in one and three in the other not to mention the frags I gave away.
The colonies did seem to mutiply fast over the years but I think it helped that my first colony had about 20 heads. These guys grow exponentially ( one head will split into two and those into four and so on).
It will take a while to get your's to a good size colony. You obviously like this coral . I think if you have a chance you should invest in a larger colony . You won't be sorry when when you have frags all over the place.

Looking healthy, heads look like they might be beginning to stretch, which is the start of splitting. Before you know it you'll have a bunch of heads on there.

There are two mouths yes. There are two mouths on the lighter colored heads as well. Today, the lighter colored ones look like they are progressing finally. Swelling a little more than normal. A good sign.

I have another colony of Candy cane in the same tank. It has close to 10 heads and is recovering from a FW dip I did to rid it of parasites. It's looking good. Although I wouldn't mind some more Trumpets or Candy cane, my LFS is lacking in selection. Not to mention the fact that my Hammer and frogspawn are really taking off now and room will soon be limited. I need to get a larger tank. :hmm3:

A ten head colony! Now ya talkin! In several months you will have 20 . Are they the same color as your other ones? What size tank do you have again?

They are purple with white stripes like normal candy cane I guess. They were my first coral and still one of my faves. This is all in a 29g.
