Doc 9010 skimmer question

Master of my domain
I recently purchased a doc 9010 skimmer from a reef club member who assured me that besides being dirty, the skimmer worked excellently. I just finished washing the skimmer and pump however when I opened the pump up I think its missing an impeller shaft. Ive attached pics of the parts inside the purchased skimmer pump and want to know what is missing(if anything) and where to obtain to make the skimmer operational. Ive heard nothing but great things about these skimmers and cant wait till I install it on my tank.

thanks
Steve

You are missing the brake shoes that hold the impeller and shaft unto the magnet, there is no central metal shaft. The white shaft with the impeller though should be attached to the magnet, the brake shoes 3000.660 are what hold it there. These also stop it from spinning backwards. I don't know if these were removed and lost or if they fell out, usually if they fall out, the entire 3000.600 drive unit should be replaced as odds are that the magnet or shaft is worn as well so new brakes will also just fall out.

That is the correct part, I am fairly certain that Marine Depot is out of stock, I think everyone is, we should have more 3000.600 next week, it has been about 8 weeks since we had any of these.

called around to a few places, looks like youre right, all out. gonna have to wait till next week to get the part. :-(

Yes, but I think it would be a waste, if anything I would send in the old drive unit and I can try to get it so you can limp along, the odds are more than the brakes need to be change to make a workable solution.

I have some bad news, we are again getting 6100.700 and 6200.700 drive units but 3000.600 and 6080.600 will be 2 more weeks. I think it is best to send in what you have given further delays.

I think I PM'd you that we were waiting for parts which will come in on Thursday? I should be able to ship tomorrow.
