Hi Gang,
Time to get ready for the trip to Doctor Mac's next saturday. I think I sent a notice to the forum master by mistake. It may show up as a poll with no choices instead of a sticky thread i was thinking of.

So lets try again. Lets meet at the Bear Library parking lot again, Saturday morning, the 21st, between 8:45 and 9 AM. Thats the library in Governors Plaza at the intersection of Route 40 and Route 7 with the green steel roof, next to Pet Kare.

We should leave at 9:00 AM. I should have directions to both Doctor Macs and dynagirls place then. we can split into two groups, those heading straight to the Docs, and those of us who wish to make a short stop by dynagirl's place about 10:30AM . then on to the Docs. its a 2 hour ride straight through, so we should all arrive between 11 and 11:30 AM. you can also find directions on the Docs website. Plus in store specials.

Doctor Mac mentioned that if you see anything in particular on the website, he can hold it for you if you give him a call a day or two before.

So, who is ready to go? Lets get a head count for the trip.

Oh, and please mention if you plan on making the stop at Dynagirls place on the way down. She would like to know how many frags of GSP to make and have bagged before we get there. hopefully with some trades in return if you have something extra. I'm bringing a xenia for DG.

Al do you have room in your vehicle for us?

Jon

Yes there is room. My wife and I will be going with a stop at Dynagirl's to see her tank.

I forgot to mention it at the meeting, but Dr. Mac has an article in this months, "Aquarium Fish" about coral farming in the Solomon Islands. This is the area that recently got hit by mother nature pretty hard. I have a friend that lives down that way on the island, I believe, next to the one Dr. Mac visits. I haven't had time to read it yet because of a busy week with school and work, but plan to before our trip.

I will be going, I have a van if anyone needs to car-pool and Al's truck fills up. Just let me know ahead of time so I know which car to bring.

Craig

As of right now I don't think I'll be going, its not positive yet, I might be able to work something out. I'll let you know later if I can or not for sure.

Thanks for the heads up Jon, I just confirmed with Dr. Macs we are coming saturday. and the Doc will be there to show us around. right now i see about 8 or 9 reefers and 3-4 significant others.

Now, a reminder, that we meet at the Bear Library in Governors Square at the intersection of route 40 and route 7. dont get confused by MAPQUEST. when you look up bear library on the phone book, mapquest gives you a place in old new castle. the listing and map are incorrect for some reason.

so It looks like about a dozen people so far. not bad. I will have some maps printed to hand out at the library for the Doc's and for our stop at dynagirls. there is a little short cut I take for the last 20 miles that saves some time.

Last call!

Bear Library, with the big green metal pitched roof next to
Pet kare to car pool and wagon train up.
Governors Square plaza, at intersection of route40 and route 7
Leaving at 9:00 AM 4/21/2007 for Doctor Macs. and DG's for GSP!

see ya in the morning!

No one has posted yet? We must all be acclimating and trying to figure out how we can make our tanks look a little like dynagirl's. For those who missed it, she has a pretty nice tank. I think her complaining in the past about a lot of problems in the past... must have gotten that all worked out.

Dr. Mac's was pretty cool as always. Good pizza to!

Al and Jen, thanks again for the ride. Sorry we weren't extremely talkative on the way back, we were a bit tired and it was a nice relaxing trip once we new we were on our way home and new where we were going. :-)

Just finished acclimating and mounting the new frags....my tank STILL doesn't come close to comparing to Dynagirls...Think she'd come set up my tank for me??

Doc Mac was GREAT - hand picked most f my frags for me. Most of the frags are open already, which is great because my wife gets to see them right away and can't say "you spent that much on a rock?!?!"

Of course - she waits until I get home to tell me I could've spent more!!!! Now I wish I had gotten that orange tree sponge.

Yes, been acclimating my frags. Nice tank dynagirl! everything looked so clean and healthy. cool fish too, even though i can't remember their names just now.

yup, it was a very nice day for a country drive, made a bit longer because i can't seem to talk and chew gum at the same time anymore. I'm sure glad you are all good sports! next time i might read my own map.

Thanks for the ride Craig, you saved me a ton of gas money for my old burb. I owe you one Bud.

I hope you all enjoyed Doctor Macs as much as i do. I have green house envy. If I ever build another house, it will have to have a nice green house too. My own personal play room.

I have green house envy.

Yeah - I got home and started measuring the kitchen so I could take a wall down and add one myself.

Of course I am also trying to figure out how to run one of those sky-light tubes he has from the roof to the basement :D

What a trip. Dynagirl's tank was awesome. What problems, doesn't look like there could be a problem she couldn't handle. The GSP frags popped right out. When I get to the point of fragging, I will send something your way.

The mated pair of clowns are looking great. The best looking clowns hands down. (Firecrackerbob may want to think about them they are way cool).

My wife saw the temp in the green house, it was 151 f. Felt like an oven. But the sps corals were abundent. Everybody remember all the names of the corals you picked? HAHA

Dr Macs' is the bomb. In a couple of months when the account gets replenished we will have to head back.
