Does a sedra 5000 fit a ASM G2?

Exactly what the subject say's, my impeller for my sedra 3500 doesn't work so instead of buying a new impeller I was thinking of ordering a 5000. So does that pump fit the same dimensions?

No, not without modification.

Alright so what kind of modification needs to be done? Is the sedra 5000 pump a taller pump?

wrap the inlet on the skimmer boby with those white or black tape. The outlet of the pump is larger than the inlet of the skimmer.

I think from 3500 pump to 5000 is no problem in term of height.

I am not sure I understand. The inlet on the skimmer body on mine is a rubber seal. If the pump inlet is larger can I just use a reducer? or would I need to cut out the inlet on the skimmer. Just wanting to clarify this thanks for the reply. I have a 5000 on the way and have a G-2 with a bad 3500 now.
