I thought i had more than i actually have, and i found out last night that two of them dont work anymore. I am looking for some that have low flow, and high flow. Like i want one for water circulation in my live-rock tank, and i need one to replace the broken one in my 30 gallon, and also a small one like 40-50 gph for my nano. I NEED LIKE 4 FOR MY 75 setup. If anyof you guys have one or two laying around that you are willing to give away or sell, please let me know, Thank you

Broken Powerheads dont do much for the flow of a tank....lol

Hey seth, is your 75G a reef tank? If so, I highly recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting a few maxi-jets MJ1200 and some MJ mods. Also, get one of those wavemakers(people sell them in the equpment selling forum and I got two from two different people for under $20 each). That should do plenty for your flow on that tank. In total, new should be about $140-160($40 for the wavemaker, $20 for each MJ and $20 for each mod) for all the stuff you need. Used you could be looking at about 80-100. If you make the MJ mods yourself, you could make them for less than half of their cost and save even more money.

I have a few smaller powerheads, some work, some don't. I'll see what I have when I get home and send you a pm.

Thanks Craig, but i have to ask, what the heck is an MJ???lol and i relaly dont have a clue about the jet things you were talking about, if you could send me a link to what you are talking about then i could understand it alot better. BTW< i never got to say bye to ya on SAT...did you get anything? Well, i will be on here til , well no, i just looked at the clock, and i will be off in like five mintues, but...oh, well.......... for my 29, reg. powerheads will work just fine, and for my nano, if you have any smaller ones, i would be interested in that too, thanks alot craig, i love this site and the helpful people on it.

MJ is an abbreviation of maxijet. It is a company that makes powerheads. They are pretty good on power consumption and they area good price for a good powerhead. The issue is the amount of flow that it outputs(220 Gallons per hour I believe). Many believe it is not enough. That is why there is a modification that can be done to the base(MJmod) that pushes the flow much higher(up to 1000-2000 GPH). This is more than adequate for corals, sometimes too much depending on the coral you are keeping. Pushes it up to Tunze level water movement for a drastically reduced price.

A site to look through is this:
http://mjmods.com/

Look at the important links on this page and it will explain.

OK!!!!!!!! i have seen those, i even think they have those at my local walmart, idk, im prety sure though. So all i would have to do is buy how many? like 2 or three? and then the modification kits for them, wow, 2,400gph that pushes it up too........ and about those wavemaker,s i looked for some on the selling forum and couldnt find any, si that where you meant to look? ANd also, if you are home, did you check if you have any PH's lying around?lol
Thanks Craig

also craig, this is a wavemaker, it says it makes for a good wavemaker in the description, would this work, it would be alot cheaper i bet.....

dont get the walmart one it is too expensive. I have a magazine where I can get yøu them for the correct price which is like 17 bucks or something. u can get them all from there and the shipping is only like 8 bucks. pm me for more info please.

I just got home and i looked in my Dr.fostersandsmith and marinedepot mags, and they have them for $17.99 each, is that where you saw it?

Have you checked with Marcye to see what she can get them for? I think she carries the mods as well.

Sorry, got busy with acclimating corals when I got home...I know I have extras, the question is do they work...I'll check today.

You cannot use the mods and the WM's link you sent me...stick with the mods and one of the wavemaker switches(goes between pump 1 and 2 and if third is connected, goes on a double cycle). Besides, one WM costs 40 retail and occillates 3 pumps and has constant source for three other ports...it's worth it in comparison.
