does anyone have a monti dominated tank

im a huge fan of the encrusting monti and i plan on having thoes as the only sps in my tank... was currious to find out if anyone else has a encrusting monti dominated tank

i love the colors, and frankly dont like the "stick" look.... done get me wrong i love looking at them, just not the look i want.... mine is not a sps tank... more of an lps tank with encrusting/plating montis domiating the higher light portions

The problem, in my opinion, is that yes; the encrusting monties look nice. But if you had an entire tank dedicated to them, it would just be a bunch of colored lumps. For me part of the interest in acros is this weaving in and out that they create.

Monties are sweet!!! Just needs some acros "sticks" and maybe some plates and things other then just colored lumps haha

ive done the sticks in past and while there are some sweet pieces i truely am not interested in them..... i have the usuall orange, and a green with purple rim monti cap... i need a purple cap and a leng si still.... i also have superman monti, apple berry monti and idaho grape monti encrusting montis... next on the list sunset, reverse sunset, poker star monti, and jedi mind trick.. my tank is truely lps dominated..... well acan dominated...

i have a question. i have growth but the color faded just a bit on one of them. im trying to keep my water params in check though.

everything is encrusting and growing fine, just coloration is a problem.

Mine was all montis for about 2 years. Just got bored with them after a while (plus I can't grow encrusters for the life of me), so I'm going to start hacking back the big plating ones and fill in the gaps with some fancy colored sticks.

i had my appleberry lose some color when it was first put into my tank... i run a 250w 20k hqi 8" above my tank... after 3 days i noticed it really lost the yellow green color, i put it on the substrate for a few days and slowly raised it up to its current location 1/2 up the tank.... it is really coloring up nicely... ill post some pics when i get home

picked up pokerstar monti, fire monti, and a sweet yellow base purple polyp ((viking pride )) encrusting tonight.... pics will come tommarow.... my encrusting montis now consist of.... superman, idaho grape, apple berry monti, pokerstar, fire monti, and my viking pride....
