Does anyone have pics of their gigantea at night?

Here's a picture today about 20:00
The tentacles are sticky but it's base is not sticking down. Often I would find it upside down and I would help turn it upright. It's mouth would be more open but after a while it would close back up to how it looks in this photo

Here is a photo from above
Ive not seen it deflate (from past experience this does not mean it doesn't when I'm not looking) and it seems to maintain its size, or there abouts. The water today is not cloudy like the previous few days after the power head incident which is a psi rice sign. Only issu it the mouth and it not anchoring itself to the floor

How does it's foot look?

No damage and in one peice. Looks healthy to me, but being my first gig, I'm not 100% sure. I'll take a Picture next time it happens.
When we do get ourselves a healthy Gigantea each, it'll make all this especially rewarding

Here's a picture from yesterday. It's hanging in there, size seems to have stablished at about 60% of when it was at its largest. The foot is sticking a little bit. It is very reactive. When I touch it when cleaning the tank it immediately retracts. The water is pretty good with only small amounts of stringy bits. I am doing 2 50% water changes a day. The mouth is a little open burnout loose. I only have2 days worth of cipro remaining. I have more on order but not sure when it will get here. I have amoxicillin to hand so may use it and see how it goes

Video today about 1 hour after lights on. It reacted to the lights coming on by opening up. Foot is now sticking to the wall. Mouth still slightly open and tenticles not stretched out as much as before

Last day of cipro. Not sure if I should just do 2 water changes a day and go with amoxicillin or not. Any thoughts?
Antibiotics better than no antibiotics?

Go to amox while wait for the Cipro. Use the same schedule but use 500 mg (or 250 mg) Amoxicillin for each time. I would start with 500 mg. When the Cipro come, then resume Cipro.

The mouth on my blue was open like that for a while after I ripped it's foot too. Took a while, but it closed up like it should.

thats good to know. it does seem to be getting better slowly. it detached itself last night but has planted its foot in the middle of the tank over night.
I began using amoxicillin last night, hopefully there will not be any adverse effects.

Cipro arrived today so have only used amoxicillin for 1 day. Arrived from Thailand. The tablets are purple in colour

Cipro are pretty cheap. I think it is not one of the medication that people counterfit a lot. Good luck with him. Let us know

no real change to report. I did see it in the early hours and the mouth was open. it wasn't flapping around or anything or gaping big cavern, just relaxed open. i guess this isn't a good sign.
during the day it looks ok, tentacles are not long, just compact. when i touch it, it does respond very quickly by retracting. I'll try and get a video tonight...

I think it is a good sign. Gig mouth stay open for a long time. Even healthy Gig have their mouth open a lot of the time.

sorry i did not follow your threads but how/why did you have to order the cipro from thailand?

just for future ref you can buy "Fish Flox" right here in the USA, NO PRESCRIPTION NEEDED. i have used them before and same effectiveness as the Cipro from the Pharmacy.

might be too late for you but for those who might need them in the near future that runs across this thread.

Best Of Luck with the Nem, very beautiful purple color.

I am based in the UK and we can't seem to get it over here so I ordered some on line.

Are these like carpet anemones but with longer tentacles? I have a carpet and mine has shorter tentacles.

What is the difference in those two?
