Does anyone have seahorses for sale?

Hi,
I was wondering if any seahorse enthusiasts were wanting to sell some of their ponies? Like I said before, I am just starting, and I only have 1 so far. I don't have the room for a lot of horses, but I would also like to not spend an enormous amount of money filling my tank. So if you are interested in selling them, let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out!
Or possibly if anyone knows where I can find them somewhat cheap, that would be great! And thanks everyone for all the help on my last thread!!

Thanks everyone on the tips. However, I was more interested in buying them from non-shopowners. I've looked everywhere in Norman, but I feel that the prices are too high for the stock they have in right now. Perhaps I have just ran across good deals in the past, but I feel there are better ponies out there for me :) Thanks though!

At Crystal Clear Aquatics they are selling black Erectus for $50 & $65 for colored. I broke down and bought a black one last night. I'm not sure what a good price is for Kelloggi. I was thinking about getting two of them in the near future. Also I'd like another pipefish and a mandarin or two. Any info anyone has on how I can get some of these for relatively cheap (compared to normal store prices), that would be great! Thanks!!

Brook,

I don't know if you have been given the mandarin bashing yet so I will do it. Hahahaha

Mandarins need to be kept singly unless you have tank over 100 gallons or so. Even one mandarin is nearly impossible to keep in a 35 which your sig says you have. Mandarins almost never eat anything but live pods and they need a ton of them to survive. Most mandarins sold just wilt away until they die.

Mandarins are very slow plodding fish as they hunt pods all day. Other fish like pipefish will always beat the mandarin to the food. Mandarins will also not survive on brine shrimp if that is what you were hoping to feed them.

The only way to have a mandarin in a small tank is to raise huge amounts of pods to add to the tank and do it in a way that other fish don't get them all.

They are gorgeous and I will have one when I get my 150 going strong.

I had a 44 gallon setup with loads of pods last year. I thought it was finally enough to get a mandarin. I was wrong, within a months I was out of pods and lost the mandarin.

One other thing to watch out for with mandarins is that fish stores rarely have tanks with enough pods to feed them out and that if they come in mice and plump, they start losing weight until they are sold to someone with a tank that can feed them. They don't sell for enough money for a LFS to feed them they way they need. They would end up loosing money when they sell the fish.

Had I ever had a daughter her name would have been Brook.

I have had a mandarin in the past, just not in this tank. Yes, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to get two for this small of a tank. I had planned on buyin live pods for it, but I wanted to wait til I saw plenty currently living in my tank.
We had one in our 75 for a long time. We bought him after a customer had given him to a fish store because he was starving in his tank. We bought him thinking he might die anyway, and he made a great come back and remained a fatty the whole time we had him. I feel pretty confident about keeping one in my 35. I'm not sure whether to get a green mandarin or a psychodelic.
Thanks for the heads-up though. You never know how some people will treat their fish. And if anyone still knows where I can find cheap companions for my seahorse tank (pipefish, dragonets, kelloggi or dwarf ponies, etc) by all means let me know!! :)
