Does anyone keep just one Ocellaris?

I use to have a single ocellaris decided to get her a boyfriend..he died..just wouldn't eat anything. I was really upset about that, apparently she was too, because thats when she became a royal pain in the fingers. She would splash water at us and bite us between the fingers. One time she actually took a ocellaris mouth sized chunk out of my husbands hand. We were afriad if we added another ocellaris he wouldn't last for a few minutes. I wanted to try because I wanted a pair. OK, so the next time we went to our LFS I saw that they had a few tank raised small ocellaris. Made sure the clown would eat before I bought him and he did..ate like a pig. Brought him home, acclimated him, and she was interested in him. She charged and he would shake..this lasted a few days. Now she doesn't bite us if we ever have to put our hands in the tank. They are such a cute couple..swim together and snuggle while they sleep.

well my tank has 7 occel. i recently got 6 juvi from fingerwinkles and added the larger female from my nano in they're all doing great and hanging out like a bunch of clowns

That's great to hear that you were able to add ocellaris after one has been alone for a while. I think were going to leave this one alone for a little while just to give it a chance to grow a little, or at least hoping it will grow a little.

it looks like my male clown hasn't grown at all in like 8 months haha. The female keeps gettin bigger tho

Some of them definately stay pretty small.

I have just one, her brother went carpet surfing while I was on vacation.
She is happy as heck and just got an RBTA for her to play in. Although she hasn't even looked at it yet, been a week now.

Don't plan on getting her another mate, just yet.

You know that how many parrots go insane in peoples homes?

All life needs a partner unless you intend to be there a lot for it.

Ocellaris!
I added another small and they looked like they were nipping but upon closer inspection they were playing and our original approached the other, and the new one laid sideways and shimmied. Except that later the next day they switched, so they must have switched sexes or... idk, but i looked up the behavior and that is apparently submission and now they swim together at night, and play... everyones hates the damsels, i so regret taking them with the tank but... I look forward to taking them to the store.

most all of our fish are docile and quite peaceful and the damsels are very flighty and energetic and they dont match even the fish we will be getting we are planning on calm docile fish so...
