Does anyone know of any frag swaps for the Triple Cities area?

I am not even sure what happens at one as I have never even been to one lol, but I keep hearing they are pretty cool to attend if one is in the area. Did anyone hear of any going on in the triple cities area? I never see anyone posting for one in this area? What exactly does one do at a frag swap? Do they just swap corals? Do they sell them? How do you take your own frags in without all of them dying? lol
 
Nature's Best Fish & Reef is holding one next month, they have a FB and website but i am new to this online thing and i do not know the rules on posting links...

But everyone does them differently, some charge different ways to profit from the event in terms of renting space or taking a cut from sales, some, like NBF&R is free for everyone but wont have as large of a turnout because they are new in the area

Overall they are just a fun get together where even if you have nothing to buy or nothing to sell you can still meet some great people in the hobby and i'm sure i will learn a thing or two, i think there is going to be food and demonstrations on fragging and coral husbandry but don't quote me on it i don't represent them in anyway :D just enjoy shopping some ware that isn't a big corporation and treats the livestock as a collectors item and not a $ sign
 
The Natures Best Swap is on Oct. 19th. Not sure of the time. Usually it is a place to buy, sell, or trade corals with fellow local reefers. Most swaps let you set up the night before so your corals have time to adjust. They also usually run store specials & sometimes have raffles. Rick at NB said he may have some tanks set up for people. I usually bring my own small tank, heater, cooler, & a light. I will talk to Rick soon & post more details when I get them. Hope they have a good turn out! People should start posting here if they are going, what they have for sale or trade, & what they are hoping to get. Hope to see you all there.
 
I have some zoos, ricordeas, green candy canes, shrooms (orange, green, purple, superman), & I can frag my green hammer & blastos if anyone is interested. I have purple w/ green center blastos & red with green center blastos. The red blastos have heads bigger than a quarter. I can only frag 1 or 2 heads of the red ones. I'm mostly looking for nice zoos in trade.
 
Mr. Bones i will put my order in the blaso no trade atthis time just the green stuff.also if you have orange rics id be intrested.

Was in to see Nature's Best Fish for supplies last night and in again today cause I saw a coral piece I liked a lot. Top notch service!!!!! Love my new coral. Hope people are going to that frag swap.
 
well went to natures best last night after work yep blew my money on some awesome corals and picked up some supplements I really like the store cant wait to the swap come on people we have less then a week lets get posting some frags and trades,
 
i lost everything i had because heater stuck on and boiled everything but my zoos so im out but will swing by to start again
 
I will have some softies and stuff, nothing major. Defiantly more looking to buy then anything, have my interest sparked on those purple blastos!

Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing what you all have to offer, talked to someone in the store today. Going to be snacks/door prizes/fragging demo's on the frag saw so it should be a fun day even if i don't find anything i want. Store should be getting in some big coral orders leading up to, and fragging up a bunch of their colony pieces
