Does Anyone own Octopus Skimmer NW-200??

I heard it is loud. What do you think of it??? People keep confusing these skimmers with a different brand. I just want to know if anyone likes these skimmers. From www.octopusskimmer.com. Otherwise i am going to buy a ASM G2???:rollface:

There are several different Brand names for the NW200. Do NOT buy an ASM. It is not loud by any means. Perhaps the water coming out of the standpipe could be considered loud if the skimmer is in shallow water but that can be remedied with a gate valve mod. You will be wasting your money if you buy an ASM. Buy the octopus and be happy. Take the money you saved on the superior skimmer, which mind you is in a different class than the G2, and buy something else you need. You can not compare a 6"(G2) to an 8"(NW200) body. There just isn't much of a comparison.

Exactly......its a great skimmer and for 179 bux and unbelievable buy.

I have had one for 2 months now..I LOVE IT. it is easy to adjust. I can cut it off and on without having to readjust. Mine is not loud. Also very easy to clean.

BTW i took a plastic cup and cut the bottom out, flipped it upside down and placed it over the standpipe. That allows the water to run down the cup and hit the water instead of falling down to the water. Eliminated the noise and the spray.

This is a modified NW200. I have to empty the cup daily. This is somewhere right around 36 hrs.

Would you guys say this skimmer is comparable to a Euro Reef rs100? Been thinking about these 2 but cant come to a decision.

What size tank are you using the NW200 on?

Does anyone use an un-modified NW-200 or NW-150 that they are happy with? I was considering picking one up, but I really don't want to do a lot of mods. I could do some easy stuff, but I'd rather not bother with the whole mesh-mod thing.
