I'm planning on flying out to my dad's place in CA and remember a web site that sold base rock that wasn't too far away from his place. I think they were called Hi Rock. Anyways, I was planning on checking in 100 lbs if I can get it at a reasonable rate. Anyone have a site for these guys. thanks

that's it, put 60 lbs in my new set up, it very heavy though

60 lbs is 60 lbs.

I was just looking them up last night. I got about 30 lbs of rock from them in the spring of this year and it doesn't look how i wanted it to, there are 3 nice size pieces. If anyone wants to take it off my hands for about 60 dollars, PM me. I paid over 70 after shipping and handling. I think i just might skip the base rock for my 75 and go with all live rock.

60 lbs is 60 lbs.

I believe he's talking about mass in relation to size of rock. Most base rock is very dense when compared to LR. 60 lbs of base rock doesn't get you very far when aquascaping.

BTW, even though Hirocks is out of business, someone bought Reeferrocks and it is back open under new management.

i got about 180 lbs from them.
i was satisfied. some peices were nicer then others. i used it for base rock. it was dense compared to other reef rock.

two of the rocks I received from Hirocks looked almost like DIY rocks, but then again this is the only base rock I have ever seen in person. I emailed them a couple of days after I received the rock and they never did respond to my email.
