Does anyone use "Epsom Salts"

My mag. is low and I ran out of Mag. Flake so I looked on the site, "Chemistry Reef Calculator" and it shows Epsom Salts. Does anyone use this? If it is a good product, at least I can get it today at a drug store and I wouldn't have to wait for shipping.

Its cool too use every now and then. The problem is sulfate buildup. That can be controlled with good sized water changes to some extent. IMO...use it if you have too for a short term solution but get some aquarium grade MG for continued use.

its good to raise mag from time to time, i use neo-mag inside my calcium reactor and it keeps it stable most of the time, but if it drops then i use epsom salt....

Yep Yep, I use the 64 oz container of Epsom salt, dissolved in enough RO/DI water to make 1 gallon. This is my Mg supplement. I also responded on your RF thread!!

Dont epsom salts do very little to Mg compared to how much salt they add? I remember reading somewhere that they are pretty inefficient.

Hey, Thanks everyone. I did post where ever I could so as to insure a quick response. I was getting ready for work and needed to know asap if it would work so that I could buy it on my way home. I did. Thanks again, Brian

You end up adding a lot of sulfate for the amount of Mg added.
