Does anyone use fish dip in place of quarantine for new fish?

Is there something called a formalin bath?

Would you do it after acclimation of DT water just before putting the fish in?

Or right after taking the fish out of the bag and before acclimation.

I quarantine by treating with Prazipro, then isolation with heavy feeding schedule, watch for 5 weeks, then to the display. I do not believe in treating for anything else unless a problem displays itself. Contrary to the belief of some, 2 weeks of copper will do nothing for parasite eradication. If cryptocaryon shows, I treat with copper at .15 in isolation. If oodinium shows, I fresh water dip then treat with formalin

Dips are great for relieving the fish of immediate parasite infestations, but you need to to isolate the fish for several weeks in hypo/prazi to get rid of all the flukes and parasites.

Well, that is not exactly correct. Hypo has no effect on oodinium. None. Unless, you are at 1.009 you will have no effect on cryptocaryon. Fresh water dipping will relieve a fish from oodinium or flukes but will not correct the problem.
