Does chemi-pure really work that well

ive been considering putting some chemi-pure in the back chambers of my aquapod, because ive heard such good things about it. but i currently have some rubble, some purigen, and some chaeto. do i really need the chemipure... will it make that big of a difference.

I've heard Chemi-pure is not so great, but I've always used it on my smaller tanks and always been very pleased with the results. One small bag placed in the back chamber first in line from the overflow is all it takes to keep the water crystal clear for quite a while.
