Does Ciproflaxcin 250mg for 20g kill Brooklynella?

I've read that Metro does kill swimming parasites, how about Cipro? The water and tank that are being used for tx of Anemone will have been treated for 5 days. The tank is fish free. In theory I can keep it in QT for the month, just not the healthiest place for a Nem in the long run.

My DT has had fish re-introduced after 5 weeks fallow for Brook. Currently my last 5 fish are going strong for 3 weeks. I really don't want deal with that ever again.

No direct experience, but ciproflaxin is an antibiotic and brook is a protozoan parasite; I doubt that it would. I wouldn't trust anything but formalin to kill brook. Certainly not metr.

There was a thread on here not too long ago where someone was using metro for brook...it didn't work. He ended up doing the formalin dips.

No reason copper won't kill them either, but it doesn't. Cipro is a "broad spectrum" antibiotic, meaning it kills a wide range of bacteria. Brook isn't a bacteria. Same reason antibiotics don't cure common colds; the colds are caused by a virus, not a bacteria. Remember, we need to be talking about a 100% kill rate, not just kill some of them.

Alright, did some research. Metrodinizole does kill Protozoa, it is listed as treatments for humans for different parasitic infections. How effective is it for fish, no clue. Formalin is the obvious choice since enough of us have tried it effectively with ease of access.

Going on to Cipro, couldn't find anything. Based on the class of antibiotics, leaning towards no.
