i bought a clam a couple of weeks ago from a pet store... i've observed the clam in the store for about 2-3 weeks before i bought it... their aquarium was very wide and the clam was very close to the glass so it wasn't getting much light at all...
now i have the clam directly under a 150 MH DE... to my eyes, it seems like the clam's color is improving... the colors are becoming deeper and more contrasty... i'm not sure if i'm just getting used to it or do clams have the same "bleaching" effect that corals go through when they don't get enough light...
it's a 3" maxima clam by the way...
