does dying zoanthids or coral affect sps?

Zoanthids, in the same tank with SPS, can effect the SPS at any time, especially when stressed. As an example, I had some ugly Zoanthids growing on the front glass, awhile back. Using a razor blade and a net, I quickly cleaned them off the glass, netting them out of the tank and hoping the net would catch a majority of the slime that the zoanthids put out. A lot of corals appeared really stressed, immediately afterwards and I should have done a large water change, but didn't. The next day, almost every Montipora in the tank was dead.

ah i see. I think that is what happening in my tank. I have stressed a colony of zoe, and now every sps is RTN except my monti and every lps is stress.
