does fish food really expire?

same for me. i found a little jar of nls pellets i don't even remember buying. the fish don't seem to mind at all.

on another note, i spent many summers taking pack trips out of the triangle x ranch in moose, wyoming. i'm so jealous of your scenery!

The only thing that would be a negative is the degradation of vitamins and such in the food. The food is still good to use but the nutritional quality may be a little lower. Especially if it has been exposed to heat, humidity and/or light.

This is the only reason there is a expiration date on the dry foods

i soak everything in selcon or vitachem whether it's new food or these pellets i found.

Nina yeah not bad views at all right :)

ok thanks guys just wanted to make sure. got a royal gramma as a hitchhiker with my TBS LR ;) as unexpected treat.

wow! cool hitchhik.

i adore the tetons!! i have so many fond memories of pack trips. had the same wrangler 8 years in a row. on the 8th trip he told us we had seen everything he could possibly show us. the following year, instead of going to the triangle x, we went to a different ranch and packed through the bob marshall wilderness in montana. no comparison, i would have rather gone back to the tetons and seen somewhere i had already been! LOL

Sounds like you and I are in a very similar situation. Just yesterday I found some old frozen food and figured it couldn't really "go bad". I wanted to feed my hitchhikers that just came in my TBS liverock -- a tiger goby and a clingfish! I was also trying to make friends with a small mantis shrimp hiding in my rock!
