Does GWA have cheato?

Does GWA have cheato? I am in need of some, the sump is getting kinda low....

Isn't macro algea used for nutrient export? As it grows it takes nutrients out of the water. If your cheato ins't growing then there probably ins't enough nutrients for it, i.e. there aren't enough nutrients to support growth which would be a good thing. So adding more cheato won't help your tank at all. Right?

Mykayel may be right. But I would also wonder about your lights. What kind are they? My sump came with a 2 bulb NO light that the person before me said was growing algae great. But it wasn't working for me, it was dying off. I put some old PC's on it and now the algae grows pretty well.

That said, I could give you a handful if you want. It may have some grape caulerpa in it too if that's OK.

Its not that, I took alot out when I did a water change last weekend. Just need a little more. I have crazy algae growing and I need some more cheato to help w/ the nutrient export....

Looks like I might have finally figured out how to grow chaeto after many lost batches the last batch is finally taking off. Everything else being perfect ie. lighting nutrient level etc flow made the difference for me.

please tell me how to get it to grow, i have it and it grows (yes) but maybe doubled in the year i have had it

Ok Chad I might have typed too fast. It seems while I was out of town my wife has been lets say liberal with the feedings coz she thought they seemed always hungry.So now you have my Chaeto growth secret!
