Does Ich always wipe out tank?

So I have this Hippo Tang battling Ich for over a week now. He's eating like a pig, but no improvement. My question, does ich always wipe out every fish in tank? Nobody else in tank shows signs of Ich so far.

No, it does not.

It depends on a lot of factors; stress, treatment, number of inhabitants, feeding, WQ..

Ich will probably always be present in your tank if they are not removed and over time when others get stressed the parasite can attack then your fish will get sick.

Thanks Hattie, Tank is a reef, so I'm not treating other than garlic. I wish I could get him out but that not gonna happen. I can't believe he's eating so well considering he's got a bad case. Others look good, I'll keep soaking food in garlic and keep my fingers crossed.
