Does ich infect snails....

Bought some turbo snails @ the lfs today. They came out of a tank that had been being treated for ich on some Tangs. Is it safe to put them in my tank? I's a 150, newly established with only damesels and 1 half black angel right now. Thanks, Nancy

inverts don't get ich like fish do, but it's slightly possible that they could carry in some hitch hikers.
I'd be more concerned that the turbos were in a tank full of copper which will generally kill them eventually.
are they cruising around or just hanging out in mostly one spot?

They were up on the sides eating. Cruising!!!!

they 'should' be Ok if they're active.
I wouldn't sweat the ich situation but it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye open for it anyway.
in the future, I'd steer clear of inverts known to be in coppered tanks and I'd also be wary of a fish store that knowingly coppers inverts.
