Does live sand go bad???

I bought a 25 lb bag of live sand to put in my refugium, and only used about 2/3 of it. I opened it about a week ago and was thinking of puting the rest in the display tak. Does it go bad or is it still safe to put it in the tank. Its been sitting open in the house since opened. Thanks in advance.

yes, it can go bad but go ahead and use it in tank. at the most it will cause a small cycle.

Live sand doesn't go bad. Bad people with live sand make live go bad. Or something to that effect.

But to answer your question. Does the live sand smell bad? Does it smell like sulfur or low tide or like fresh ocean breeze? If it smells bad don't eat it.
