Does mixed saltwater keep very long?

I mixed up a batch for a water changed and have about three or four gallons of saltwater remaining. That got me thinking, does it spoil? Or how long does it last?

Indefinitely, really. Many people store saltwater, nothing wrong with it.

Yeah... never had a problem with storing it and I'm sure you'll use it soon enough.

I wouldn't try to hoard it like wine though.

Most can be stored forever..Like regular instant ocean..

Certain mixes like Reef Crystals/Kent have some organics/vitamins in it that will slowly degrade and should be mixed/aerated on occasion..

Many salt mixes can be stored indefinitely without water movement, but some salt mixes contain organics like amino acids that do not store well. Also you likely to see some calcium precipitation with the high in calcium/alkalinity reef salts when you store them.
