Does my Acro look ok?

My most recent attempt at Acro's... I have had this peice for 3 weeks now.... just wondering how it looks to a seasoned veterin in the SPS world.... I Appologise for the poor quality pic, this is the best i can do, (AND my Camera Really doesn't like the LEDS, so the color looks nothing like the real thing...)

I'm really sorry to tell ya- your acropora looks great, except the little tiny red bugs which you can see better as the orange, or red little specs on the right side. Do a search on red bugs, and the best of luck to you.

Thankyou for your help..... i didn't know.... that is why i asked.... i guess i will hafta remouve it from my system and quarintine it, treat with that vet stuff.....

I would get that one out as quick as you can, I've seen loads of people having problems with red bugs recently. Do you have a quarantine tank you could put it in?

yes... i am gonna set up a little 10 gallon and pic up some intercepter this afternoon, it is the only acro i have in my tank, so does that mean the rest of the tank is infected? or will the little buggars die without a host?

so i read on another thread on this board that the bugs will only live 3 to 5 days without a host.....

so i am QT ing the acro, and treating with intercepter... and in a week i can put it back in....

Keep reading: usual recommendation is to treat with interceptor weekly x 3-4 to ensure than life cycle of eggs is also interrupted.

yer right.... but after that, i don't hafta worry about any surviving inside of the tank either.....

As long as your DT doesn't have any other acros to keep those red bugs alive you'll be fine. IME a week is fine. Two weeks even better just to be sure.
Just treat that acro seperately in a QT for a while and once you're sure the bugs are gone you'll be able to put it back in your DT.

You can look at this as good practice of how and why you should QT new stuff in the future. :)
