does red/orange SPS need less light?

josee1013

trying my best at this...
many people say that orange or red polyp SPS are doing better in medium lighting...is this true?
what are you thought and experiences?

well with my red planet, it needs a lot of light to stay all red. In medium lighting, its still red, but gets green on some parts. in lower light, its more green than red (looks like the atl shades of fall kind of).

my red hyacinth needs a lot of light too, otherwise it turns green or white.

so I asked my question on wetebmedia and got my answer ;)

<In general, yes... Most "warm coloured" sessile invertebrate life, algae... that has predominant pigments in these colours is adapted for lower light (intensity) conditions... occurs in deeper, more out of the light settings. Bob Fenner>

the answer I got:

<In general, yes... Most "warm coloured" sessile invertebrate life,
