I got this bta about two months ago. Just wondering if he looks health one daytime and acintic photo.l
(Light reflects off the top so it wasn't a very good daytime photo with the glare) thanks in advance for any opinions and advice uploadfromtaptalk1405118157430.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405118172435.jpg

It looks bleached. It's not so much the color, which is difficult to see from the picture, but the fact that it looks like the tentacles are transparent. They should be opaque.

That doesn't mean it can't be turned around. It's inflated and BTAs are pretty tough. However I would have to say that right now it's not what it should be.

Really hard to tell from the pics, but you would probably get a better response if you posted in the Anemone and Clownfish forum. Might also want to list what lighting it is under and the age of the tank.

Age of tank is 8 months lighting is kessil. Parameters are in check . I feed it every 2 to 3 days. Is it from light set too high or low?

Not really . it moved to that spot under the rock and it pretty much stayed there . some of my SPS is bleaching too so it could be lights. But I always thought nems moved to their proper lighting and flow. It readily takes food very well

OK so I have them running at 20% instead of 50 and will see if it helps. It just looks so dim compared to mh. But I'll give it some time and update my progress.

Ok so I turn the lights down to 20% and now it seems like it's become even more transparent but it still is inflated and has its bubbly tips. what should I do

I'm not well experienced with anemones but I've heard of one way to see if it's healthy..

Are the tentacles sticky like glue kinda? Or do they just rub around your finger with no grip like a balloon?

I've heard if it's not sticky at all that's a bad sign.. however again I'm not too well experienced in the anemone category.

If I get one that's transparent already, I try to feed a piece of shrimp 2-3 a week. Gotta provide them with a food source until the can get their zoox back. I hear some ppl say that it takes them to much more energy to digest it vs letting them eat something but this is what I've been doing and it seems to work for me. I will say I have noticed that they don't always get their zoox back at the same rate. The last 2x BTAs I got about 4 months ago both came in very transparent (they are clones). One got it's color back within 2 months or so and has out grown the other one and as recently split. The other is still transparent and while it is bigger then when I got it, it's nowhere near as large as the bta that colored up. It's slowly getting it's pigment back but it's taking a lot longer. Both are on same feeding schedule in the same system. In short, try feeding it, keeping the water clean and maybe turning up the lights a bit.

Definitely possible but if their pretty healthy to begin with, they'll just move to an area more to their liking.....or a powerhead....or block a overflow....or nestle in to a acro colony...
