My clown fish is always fanning the sand with its tail and also moving rocks around. Its really funny.
Last time I seen it do it he was opening his mouth real real big (as if yelling at me) after I moved a rock back in place and after the 3rd time of his "mouth opening" ......BAM he hits this rock and moved it. Lmao. He did this 2-3 more times till the rock was far enough for his liking.
Really funny and this is all before I even dry off my hand!

Ya he is a nasty guy but mostly nice to his tank mates except the Anthias I got but the Anthias puts up with him. Clown is tough till the Anthias gets p***ed and turns on the clown and then the clown goes back into its host

My clown knocks (or knocked) everything over. When I put my hand in the tank to set something up, he/she would watch carefully, noting each piece that moved. Then it's only a few moments later that he (actually I've heard it's a nesting female) goes to move it.

Finally though, I've found a cure. After a cost of a few hundred bucks in damaged corals, I've discovered that if I move the fish to a friend's 250-gallon, it's no longer a problem for my 125-gallon. :D Hope my friend's 250 is ok.

my Clarkii excavates his hole everyday, putting sand and little rocks in his mouth and carrying them away from his house. The SOB also bites me every time I stick my hand in the tank. No matter that I know it's coming, it still scares the jebeebers out of me.

I only have similar problems with my Maroon Clownfish, especially the female. She used to fan the substrate and create sand storms until the host (Green BubbleTip Anemone) moved to a higher part of the aquascape. She continues to dislike anything near the anemone and nearly always succeeds in removing it from her territory. Maybe I should also give the pair of them to a good friend.

My maroons always move sand around, and the one i believe to be the male always decides to bite me when i put my hand inside the tank, its quite funny because he will back off if i move my hand towards him, but as soon as i leave him alone he comes right after me.
