No, you will wipe them out for sure. Also, if treating for existing ich, do NOT raise your temperature as it lowers dissolved oxygen in the water. If anything a lower temperature is preferred.
Thanks guys,I dread moveing all the live rock to catch the fish,I am makeing up 100 gallons of fresh saltwater along with my 40 gallon water change to fill the 135.The fish are showing no signs of ich right now,it just pops up every once in awhile.I am planning on doing the hypo treatment for 12 weeks.
I started taking out rocks with corals that I want to keep, and about 20 lbs of sand.I figured it would eaiser than catching the fish.I will place coral and liverock in a 75 gallon tank for 12 weeks, and run my dt at hypo for 6 weeks, then bring salinity back up to 1.027 .Then at the 12 week mark use the 20 lbs of sand to reseed my sand bed.
Alittle update, water is currently at 1.014,I didn't realize it would take so much ro-di water to lower the salinity to that level .I should have it down to 1.009 this afternoon.
I have the water at 1.008 and temp at 78.4.What few mushrooms that was left on liverock have almost melted away.So hopefully after 6 weeks in hypo this pest will be gone.
After reading some articles by Bob Fenner, useing hypo in my display is useless. How good is prizi-pro that is what I am planning on treating the tank with.I am bringing salinity back up 1.020 for treatment. TIA
