I just ordered zeo-mag when I needed it. Of course I also read that it dissolves at the lower PH ranges (6.3 or so), so it isn't a great choice for using with ARM (even though we used it with ARM, Rowalith and Schuran/Gen-X media without incident). I did notice that with the ARM and Rowalith it didn't dissolve the dolomite much at all over time, probably because we ran the reactor higher than needed for the dolomite. We are now using the Gen-X media, so hopefully it should run low enough to make it a worthwhile addition.
I found a place back East that had the best pricing (like $18 per container). Shipping wasn't that bad...after factoring the price difference for multiple containers of it the price was still better at the East Coast place... I am drawing a blank right now for the exact name and URL.. give me a bit to dig it up later on this evening (and keep reminding me ).
Stumbled on this thread when searching to determine if the Dolomite I found could be used as a DSB. I'm a little far from SF, but I just picked up two 50 lb bags of DoloWhite brand Dolomite Sand at a gravel and rock place in Rocklin. Each bag was $3.60. This isn't Fish specific sand, so not sure if it would work for your situation. It is very fine.
I thought I had found where I got them from, but it turns out thatpetplace.com is just where I found TMPCC at the best price (After shipping). I am still looking for where I got the Gen-X media from
Even after shipping it ended up being cheaper than anywhere else (we ordered 5 from them). There may be someplace cheaper now, I don't know.. hopefully we won't have to go looking again for a while
