Dolphin Killing

Just to play devils advocate here....
They are being used as food. Who are we to say they can't eat dolphin? Some of the animals we choose to eat here in the US are worshipped in other countries. Is it any better how we heard cattle into a pen then shoot them to eat them?

Again yes that video is awful and sick but I always like playing devils advocate. I agree I don't think that petition will do any good.

You would be surprised what a petition will do with that many signatures. I don't think it is that they eat it is that the way it is done and that they mislabel it often I know in my travels I have seen a lot of things people eat like in many Asian countries they eat dog which I don't mind. But one time I watched a way of killing them that they took a case of beer and every time they opened a beer some one would hit the dog with a stick tell the dog died in total agony, I was told this releases something that made it taste better? Although I do not think we have the right to make a country stop the practice of killing the animals I think we sure persuade them with the all mighty $$$$$$$$ and when a mill people stop buying stuff from a company or country it gets peoples attention.

that video got to me a little bit, not because people eat them and use them as a food source, but the inhumane methods of capture/slaughter. euthansasia through very cold water temp drops to slowly stop the animals respiratory system seemed like a more humane/viable/ still cost effective way of processing them. nonetheless i signed the petition. if my 2 minutes of time atleast gets one person to raise an eyebrow to this problem it was worth it to me. im by far NOT an anti-cruelty/peta activist but that was pretty sick. as rough as that video was i tempt you to curiously search for the shark "finning" practice videos. that is horrendous. 1000 sharks sit on the deck of a tanker and are slid out one by one and with a swift pull of the machete the fins are removed then the still very much alive shark is thrown bleeding over the deck to sink to the bottom. the fins are used for soup. atleast the japanese seem to use all of the meat from the dolphins for consumption. enough of my rant though just my .02 <~~~steve

i've got to admit, the part when that dolphin is violently convulsing and the kid walks by was a bit disturbing

I think I will pass on the video and just sign the petition... I have a hard time getting disturbing images out of my head. I can't belive how inhumane people can be. To animals and other people...Don't get me started, I watched way to much PBS tonight  A soap box could easily run out of controll!

I posted this video in another thread.... I couldnt get through it.

The problem is, a dolphin isn't "any other animal". It is arguably the 2nd most intelligent animal in the world. It can identify its own reflection.

Now thats pretty EF'D up. I guess it's not any worse than what we do to cattle over here though.

Ben

i was born and raised in nebraska (biggest beef market in the us) and although they used to slit the throats of cattle now is has gone to euthanasia injections in the past ten years or so. or it has atleast up there<~~~~steve
