hmmmm. My house Just kidding. I did run across this thread a little while ago, Im not sure on the law but id imagine a school would be a great place to start for donation that would be tax deductible. Looks like they had a crash and could use some help. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=951685
I have donate 3 other 135 tanks to the good will , never had a issue with the IRS. I was just looking for another suggestion of places to donate to . thanks for the feedback.
I guess it all depends on what you claim its value to be. I think you would have a hard time estimating the value of a full reef to the liking of the IRS. JMO
he has set up several tanks including a 1,500 recirculating system for raising catfish and shrimp (donated by the fish hatchery he used to work at)
but would love to improve on the tanks set up in the classroom, we have made do with alot of our odds and ends from home but as you know a teacher salary can only go so far
anyway, his school is is a public charter school which means they can take donations and it is a tax write off
My husband is Earnie Olsen you can contact him at the website or via email at OlsenH@citrus.k12.fl.us
even if you think we are too far, just check out the website and drop him a line - he would appreciate the feedback
