Jason, on your decison to quit, I hate to see it. You have done a lot for the club. However, I really do wish that you could be more objective of ideas and consider them before making a decision on their validity.

I try as best as I can, it's hard trying to figure out whats going to be good or bad for 70 or 80 people. I did spend alot of time trying to work out the bugs but I just couldnt come up with a way that EVERYONE would come out. As for the smaller scale group buys or a big club wide buy, the club could definitely be a part of it and just give the frags away in a raffle or something.

There we go! Thats working together. Hurrrayyy GIRS!! I think that is a good idea Jason!

Working together? We had 2/3 of our board elect to quit in the past few hours. I don't feel like anything was accomplished that made this club better. I think all we accomplished was driving a wedge further between the group.

Working on my finals for school, but yes I should be down on the strip taking advantage of this all expense paid vacation in sin city.

I just can't see a positive in what transpired today.

this needs to be discussed behind closed doors at a meeting not in a public forum. If I came across this and was thinking of joining I wouldn't touch this club with a a ten foot pole!! In fact it may just make me not renew my membership!!

Just as a side note though, I have been happy of the how the club was ran this year I didn't get to make many of the events do to work but there were oppurtunities to go to very informative functions.

Please elaborate on what aspect is not appropriate to be discussed in front of the group that it affects.

Billy I agree. But the more of us that always throw in positives the more positives that will come. I either try to stay out of it or add positive posts.

Finals?? I thought you were working?

Yeak I am here for work. We are visiting several customers next week around Vegas. I am also going to school full time.

discussing is one thing but it seems as though some toes are getting stepped on. I don't think there is a prob with discussions but when it comes to people stepping down or thinking about it somewhere a line has been crossed. the concerns need to be brought up at a meeting where members can discuss it face to face.. Discussions are fine, but unless I am misinterpreting this, it seems to be more than a discussion. As in a thread said earlier, sometimes what is typed is not what is intended to be said. I just think it would look better for the club to leave the more in depth discussion for meetings.

If the frag tank issue is what is being discussed, fine but some of the other things that go on is what i am talking about.

Hey Cool! Both Vegas and School. Did they atleast put you up someplace cool?

MGM Grand. Still on the strip, but easy to get out of town for work.

The reason that Jason stepped down was because he said he is tired of arguing about every idea that comes up. My problem is that every idea that is brought up is argued against before the group has a chance to discuss it. The first reason this idea was bad was because of how it would affect supply and demand, the next reason was because it would start fights, the reason after that was becuase people would loose interest in the hobby, and so on. We never had an objective discussion in this group. If the BOD doesnt like the idea they do whatever they have to to extinquish it, showing no regard for the fact that the majority of the people that have commented on it saw the good that could come from it. In this case one of them chose to step down from his office to get the idea dropped.

Like i mentioned earlier, if you want to buy some higher dollar corals and split them up I'm all for it, i just don't see why we have to have it be so complicated, someone buy the coral and bring it to the meeting to distribute it. I just did a group buy from two part, it was simple, i didn't ask the BOD if i could do it, i just took it upon myself to do it. If you guys really want to do this, DO IT! I guess I don't really understand what you are asking from the club.

Exactly, I agree with this. Keep things simple and they will work much better. Nothing wrong with the propagation plan, but from the club standpoint, keep it simple.

Why not look at LiveAquaria or DrMacs frags, see if they will give the club a discount if we order xx amount of frags? Sell these at an auction, it gets some new corals into the local area and no hard feelings. Dont worry about which ones, ask for a good mix of SPS, LPS and softies.

Last I checked the BOD was never asked to vote on whether or not any of these ideas were even a good idea. It was shot down before that even happened. Unless for some reason I'm no longer on the BOD??? Is there a rule that you have to have a tank setup and running in order to be on the BOD?

We've checked with Liveaquaria before they won't give any type of discounts for club orders.
