Yes boys and girls, it's meeting time again for COMAS.
We'll meet at the usual location at UCO (see meeting thread for more details).

As usual, I'll be there giving out corals-- That's right, you went to the big show last month and had to take your cash. Well these aren't exactly free.... They require your action and your responsibility.

Your Action:
-- be a paid COMAS member for 2010;
--have the tank/lighting and equipment to sustain the coral you are requesting;
--return the coral if you break the tank down;
Your Responsibility:
-- Grow the Coral until it is able to be fragged or splits on it's own, and return a frag to the program;
-- If you break down the tank or leave COMAS, any corals you have not returned frags, come back to the program.
--If you lose a corsl, let me know.

All transactions happen at COMAS meetings each month.
Traditionally I have put up a thread on monday before the saturday meeting with these details. This is followed by pics of a few corals each day. Comment and ask questions about any of the corals on the forum. Also post any pics of corals you have growing from the frag program from the last 2 or 3 years.

When you decide on corals you want, PM me with a list and your name and RC name. We'll meet at the meeting saturday.

Any Questions ?????????? :fish1:

Thanks for all the interest folks,

Keep the pm's coming.....

Feel free to post comments and pics of things you have here....

Getting my first Donor frag from Lynn tomorrow. I can't believe all these cool Donar frags. I was expecting tree coral, yellow polyps, or green and brown zoas, maybe some star polyps... These Frags look fantastic and better yet they are actually available!!! I can't wait to put some in my tank tomorrow, oh and listen to Paul's presentation...ha. I was fortunate to do some business with Paul this week and see his beautiful tank and corals. If you haven't seen his corals or tank you should check it out. Paul, thanks again for the excellent service you provided me and my friends and for the outstanding job you are doing with Comas. I appreciate the donar program you and Lynn or continuing. I will donate some zoas at this meeting and not just ugly brown and green zoas.....ha

This is a colt that I received at the last fragging meeting - 3 months ago(?)

The first pic is about 3 weeks after I received it.
The second pic was tonight - pay no attention to the date - I didn't know it was on and it's incorrect.

It will be fragged and returned to the program when Lynn is ready.

Thanks to whoever donated this coral for the fragging meeting. As many cuts as were made to it, I was sure it would never overcome. As you can see, it's growing quite well.

I know this piece was the original coral the frags were cut from. I would love to see how some of the fragged pieces are doing now. C'mon guys, if I can figure out how to take and post pictures, anyone can!

Hi April,

That coral is a Nephthea coral, not a colt (Capnella species)- though they are easy to confuse.

Colts tend to be pinker and clearer, with reddish striations in the body. Neptheas generally do not display the striations and appear more irridescent.
Your piece is doing really well. Hopefully the others are doing just as well.

And- the Coral was from Village Frags.

Paul.

The donor program was started years ago and has had some very good people keep it alive. You will recognize from the forum TimV and gws76 as the most recent keepers of the torch. Thats one reason why nice corals are available. The other is generous donations from vendors and individuals giving corals and frags to the program.

See you guys tonight !!!!!

I'll check pm's a couple more times between now and about 4 pm, then start getting things ready to go.

Any last minute requests?
