Maroonish base with Purple polyps Montipora danae
This Montipora has a maroonish base with purple polyps. It is a Small Polyped Stony (SPS) coral that is related to Montipora capricornis and Montipora digitata. It's requirements are about that of most Montiporas. It is a moderately fast grower. It tends to vary it's growth rate depending on the individual's tank.
PCs, VHOs, T5s, and MHs should suffice for this coral. In brighter lit tanks, precautions should be taken to make sure that the coral should be acclimated to your lighting. With dimly lit tanks, they should be placed as high as possible to ensure sufficient lighting. The brighter the lighting, the better the growth.
Water flow requirements are moderate to high.
A sponsor may keep this coral as long as he/she meets the requirements listed below:
They provide the correct environment for it to grow.
They are available to pickup the frag at the meeting.
They describe how it grows for them under their conditions, and what those conditions are.
They promise that once they are twice the size they are now, they will donate a frag to the next person on the Want List.
If you wish to be a sponsor, reply to this list and place your name at the bottom of the Want List. The next people on the list will receive frags from the sponsors when the colony has doubled.
