Donor.... Purple Mushrooms

The easiest way to frag mushrooms is to cut them at the foot with a razor blade. Do it outside of the tank in a bowl. The pieces of the foot left on the rock will grow a new top and into a new shroom in 1-2 months.

I believe Mike is next on the list? I can be a donor for the blue/purple shrooms.

Tek,
I really appreciate you remembering me, but at this point it would be selfish for me to accept. I have now plenty of mushrooms in my tank. I would like to know the best way to attach floating shrooms to a rock. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Mdiddy7s

I set the mushrooms in an area of slow-moderate flow and it attaches fairly fast in less then a week. If your tank has too much flow then stick some rubble into a clear cup with holes punched into it for water exchange and let it sit. Also wrapping loose netting around the shroom and rocks works as well.

In an attempt to clean these threads up.....
I will make a list of who has the frags and who wants frags. AS you get frags. Please copy the list and change it as you give a frag away and move your name from "wanting" to "have". If there are mistakes in the list, such as yours died or you didnt get any...then change the list.

Also...........if you are the original donor...........we need a picture and a description of each coral for the website.

bump...

Shrooms are good. Count me in. I think I have the perfect lighting to be a good sponser. That is, not much. :D

Will mushrooms do well under PC lighting? I only have about 110w.

If so I would like to be on the list.

Jimmy

PC lighting will work fine for them. You will need to upgrade to another 110w of PC if you want to keep more light demanding corals.

Please add me to the have list. I will pass out one at the July Comas meeting. Fully open its about half-dollar size.

Sure I don't have to mention but requires low-lighting and low-med water flow.

I got a purple Mushroom last night after the meeting from Tony. THANKS TONY! I got two but one was very small and it disappeared into the tank. I tried to use super gel to hold it to a rock but it didn't hold. I now have the larger head held down to a rock with netting.

I REALLY enjoyed meeting everyone at the meeting.

The small one may show up in a few days / weeks. Those things seem to very patiently work their way toward light. The more light you have, the faster they get large.

After a day or 2, the big one should be attached. I've never used any kind of glue to attach them and don't know how they would react to it.

Tony,

The little sucker did show up! That is amazing considering the tank is full of rubble. :)

Again thanks!

Russ
