dont buy dolphin pumps

I purchased a dolphin pump less than a year ago, and it leaks from the seals. I called them and the said there pumps work well on freshwater, but if any salt, or sand gets into they will leak. If you are looking to get a new pump, dont waste your money on dolphin pumps. The label on the pump should read only for freshwater. Even then I would not take the chance. The water destroyed my wood floors, and cost me about $1500 dollars.

WOW, Sorry to hear it, I ran 3 Dolphins (3000)on my prop system, never leaked, but did clog a couple of times. I think that is a real cop out from them. I will say that I probably wouldn't buy them again, yes they use less power, but is a trade off for a stronger, more head pressure.

ya they make you buy the new salt water seal now as an extra. Go seq dart all the way

i love dolphin pumps, i had a few issues, but two of the issues were my own neglect, 9 year warrenty on all pumps, i had the seal issue when i first purchased my dolphin, but the sales person didn't know that there were different seals for fresh and salt water.
