DO NOT order from www.precisionaquatech.com !!!

I needed to add some copepods to my happy tank, and also needed to seed a refugium I recently set up for my larger tank. After shopping around online, I came upon this site. Looked great, very reasonable prices, and FREE shipping! Can't go wrong, right???

the site stresses the importance of overnight shipping to ensure live arrival. I could not agree more. Went ahead and placed an order for 5000 pods. Nowhere in the checkout process did it even offer any other option than the "free" shipping. Imagine my dismay when I got a tracking # and UPS indicated it was by GROUND! I immediately emailed the website questioning this. No reply. So I emailed again. And Again. And Again. No reply to 4 emails. So I called. Twice. no return call.

My copepods arrived on the 5th day. In an unrefrigerated, poorly packed box. After following the acclimation procedure to the letter, the most optimistic estimate I could come up with is %90 DOA. In a bottle that was supposed to contain 5000 LIVE Copepods, there were so few I considered naming them.

I would NEVER order anything from this site again. I would strongly recommend that none of you do either!!!

Sure seems like any reputable company would not ship pods (or anything live for that matter) using anything other than overnight or second day at the least. Even if that was the shipping option checked (I know you said you didn't see any other option) they should know better and contact you to let you know they couldn't ship pods by ground. Have you received any response from them at all?

I've only ordered pods from Reed Mariculture and couldn't be more happy with them. One time I had an issue but it wasn't their fault, it was stupid DHL's fault. The last time I ordered pods I paid for two bottles and received three!

Thats interesting. I just got off the phone with them. They never said anything about free shipping but they did say that you could ship 2 day if the temp is good. Hope you can get your problem resolved but I saw nowhere on the site anything about free shipping.

If you just go to their site and click on the "Copepods" link you will see that they offer free shipping on a couple of their copepod products.

Just checked, yup, sure does. Man, that sucks! tell them to send you some free pods and you will pay overnight shipping. I thik thats fair, they can always breed more. I hope it works out for you.
